CCB Payment Dates July 2024
As the inflation and cost of living are rising in the country, low-income parents are suffering from a financial hardship while managing their monthly expenses along with raising a dependent child. To prevent this cause, the CRA provides a monthly aid under CCB to the eligible parents having dependent child under 18 years old of age. In addition to it, the Canadian government also make sure that a child suffering from a disability may get all the financial support from the government. Thus, CRA also issues child disability benefits and if your child is eligible for disability tax credit, then you can claim child disability benefits.
According to the CRA, all individuals will have to provide a proof of birth while applying for the CCB starting from November 20, 2023. The payment amount may differ based on certain determining factors that I will discuss in this post. However, you must qualify the eligibility criteria in order to claim the payment. For instance, your live with a child who must be under 18 years of age. In addition to it, the child caretaker must be a permanent resident and a Canadian citizen and he/she must be primarily responsible for the care of the child.

How Much You Can Get Under Canada Child Benefits?
The payment amount for the Canada Child Benefit may differ based on certain factors such as, your child’s custody, age of your child or in case of any disability suffered by your child. The CRA will issue 50% of the payment to each parent with shared custody and the amount will depend on their adjusted family income. In addition to it, the CRA also provides child disability benefit.
If your child is eligible for disability tax credit then the CRA will provide you a monthly check of $3,173 under child disability benefit from July 2023 to June 2024. According to CRA, every July, your monthly payment is recalculated based on your adjusted net income from the previous year. For instance, payment from July 2024 to June 2025 will be recalculated based on your adjusted family net income from year 2023.

How Can You Apply for Canada Child Benefits in 2024?
Before applying for the CCB, it is important to be aware of when you should apply for it. For instance, you can apply for the payment when your child is born, your child has started to live with you or came back to live with you after a certain period of time or if you get your child’s custody. After that, you can apply for the CCB payment through one of the three processes which are; (i) through birth registration, (ii) online through My Account or (iii) via mail. I have provided the step-by-step procedure on how to apply for CCB payment online through My Account in the points listed below:
- At first, you will have to sign in on My Account which is your personal CRA account.
- After reaching the homepage, click on benefits and credits.
- After reaching to benefits and credits section, look for the child information and click on ‘Add’.
- The department will ask you to complete two tasks which are as follows:
- Confirm your citizenship, contact information and marital status.
- Enter your child’s information.
- Conclude the procedure by reviewing and submitting the application and if asked for additional documents, then select the ‘submit documents’ button.
NOTE: Due to wildfires in Canada, residents in parts of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Northwest Territories may experience a delay in CCB payment to arrive via mail or credit cheques.
